Email us with your device, the game version and what went wrong. Put “Paper Atlas” in the subject line so we can find it quickly.

My word isn't accepted

Only common nouns in the singular count, three letters or longer.
Plurals, names, verbs and abbreviations aren't accepted. A short message tells you why.
A valid noun that isn't in the grid counts as an extra word: +5 points each, up to ten per crossword.

I'm stuck on a crossword

Tap the center of the letter wheel to shuffle the letters. It's free.
Tap ? to reveal a letter. The first hint in each crossword is free; the next two lower that crossword's reward by 20 points each.
Once your hints are used, a “Stuck? New crossword” plate offers new words at the same level. Levels are never skipped.

How do research points work?

Each finished crossword pays research points, plus bonuses for extra words.
Spend them in the Atlas: an object opens with its first point of interest, and its other two can be opened after it.
Points come only from solving crosswords. They can't be bought.

I want to change the language or theme

On Home, tap the gear at the top right to open Settings.
Choose English, Russian or Spanish. Each language has its own crossword level; points and discoveries are shared.
Choose Day, Night, or Auto to follow your phone.

My progress is missing

Progress is saved only on your phone, together with an automatic backup copy. If the save is damaged, the game restores it from the backup.
Install updates over the existing app; your progress carries over.
Uninstalling the game or clearing its data deletes progress for good.
